It’s my desire that you will not live “on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” { see Matthew 4:4 }. God’s Word is the HeartBread we all need to feast on and digest regularly.
Each Monday, you’ll find a new verse ready for you to learn by heart and a free printable workbook to help you do just that. Workbooks are now available in the Free Printable Library to download and print in both NASB and KJV.
HEAR IT
NASB:
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,
making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
{ Ephesians 5:15-16, NASB }
KJV:
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
{ Ephesians 5:15-16, KJV }

How do you spend most of your days?
It seems to be a given in this post-modern age that busyness is the way of life. We rush from one thing to the next, playing a never-ending game of ‘catch up and keep up’ that we always feel like we’re losing.
But there’s hope for the hectic heart…
This week’s Scripture memory portion instructs us to be careful with how we manage our time and spend our days. It reminds us that we live in dark days.
But, it’s our job to reflect the Light of the world to others, and we can only do that by walking wisely along the path that God has placed us on.
Where do we find wisdom?
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. { Proverbs 9:10 }
Only by revering and learning about the Lord can we grow in wisdom and understanding. As we do so, He will make clear to us which pursuits are wise and which are unwise.
How can we make the best use of our time?
By lingering in His presence, filling our minds with His truth and obeying His Word.
May we commit our plans, our schedules and our pursuits to His authority, praying that He will help us to make the best use of the time that He gives us.

Your neighbor at Writer Wednesday,. Thank you for this post, the two verses in Ephesians speak to my heart. May your soul be refreshed in walking with the Lord in His wisdom.
Thank you, Cheryl. God’s word truly is “living and active” – it keeps on speaking. May we both keep on listening and obeying and finding refreshment and joy in our Savior.
We are neighbors at Glimpses and am delighted to find you and this system. I love the Word of God yet so struggle to keep a whole verse in my heart. I will look at this further. Thank you for encouraging me today.
Thank you so much for your encouragement! 🙂 I am so glad that the system will be a help to you – there’s nothing more beneficial than committing God’s word to memory 🙂
